When it comes to orthopedic surgery, rehabilitation of your joints begins almost immediately. Whether you’ve had partial or total joint replacement surgery for the hip, knee, shoulder, spine, wrist, hand, foot, or ankle – Dr. Tchejeyan won’t send you home without a plan to get you moving around as quickly and safely as possible!
And while every procedure and patient is unique, there are a few things you can expect as a regular part of your rehabilitative care at TJN Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Regular Physical Therapy
Dr. Tchejeyan will most definitely order physical therapy for you to aid in the recovery process. Some of this can and should be done at home, and some therapies will take place in the clinic with a professional. Today, there are many technological solutions for monitoring your progress. In fact, Dr. Tchejeyan was recently invited to speak on the OPUM Digital Knee Podcast. This company invented a brace to be worn during physical therapy in order to track your progress using artificial intelligence. Whether you’re using a progress-tracking device or not, the important thing to remember is to document your progress. Dr. T. regularly and directly communicates with your physical therapist to ensure you’re progressing in your recovery and exercise.
Regular Check-Ins
One way Dr. T. ensures that he stays on top of his patient’s progress is by frequently checking in with them throughout the healing process. If you have surgery through TJN Orthopedics, you can expect to meet with Dr. Tchejeyan 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, and 12 months after your surgery. Dr. T. would prefer you even come in every few years for an x-ray, just to stay aware of any changes in your healing and activity levels. For this reason, Dr. T. builds quality relationships with each of his patients, some of whom stop by just to say hello! Of course, that visit is NOT required, but always well received!
In the above picture, Jeri, one of Dr. T’s TKA patients, stopped by the office for a visit when she was in the area. The smiles on their faces tell the whole story – Dr. T. treats his patients well, and they appreciate him for it!
Dr. Gregory H. Tchejeyan wants to be your surgeon for life. Since he keeps seeing his patients for months and years after their surgery, he can keep track of their progress and build trusted relationships. Experiencing little to no long-term complications, Dr. Tchejeyan’s patients have confidence in the care they receive.
Trusted Experience & Genuine Care
Having performed more than 10,000 surgeries over the last 20 years, Dr. T. values the trust of his patients. He pledges to provide the highest quality of care possible, while utilizing the latest technology, like the Mako Robotic arm, when applicable.
Dr. T’s long-term care plan, in combination with the person’s commitment to rehabilitation, is what allows his patients to resume their active lifestyles in a reasonable and safe time frame. With complete cooperation, partial knee replacement patients can expect to recover in as soon as 6 weeks, while total knee replacement patients can take around 3 months. Regardless of your procedure, Dr. T. cooperates with each patient on a dedicated rehabilitation plan that will get you back to your regular activities as soon as possible.
